Terms of Service
Last updated: June 3, 2026. By using Quiet Focus, you agree to these terms.
1. The service
Quiet Focus is a web app that helps students run focus sessions, track distractions, manage assignment due dates, and receive optional reminders. Features may change as we improve the product. The service is provided “as is” during beta and early releases.
2. Accounts
You may use guest mode without an account, or sign in to sync data. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information when you sign up.
2a. Analytics & session recordings
By using Quiet Focus on the web, you understand we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity as described in our Privacy Policy. Clarity may record how you use the site (including session replays our team reviews to fix bugs and improve UX). Do not enter passwords, financial data, or other sensitive information you do not want reflected in analytics tools. Continued use of the site means you consent to this processing where required by law.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for anything illegal or harmful
- Attempt to break, scrape, or overload our systems
- Upload content you do not have the right to use
- Abuse AI scan limits or automated access
- Impersonate others or share account access in a way that violates school or platform rules
We may suspend access if we reasonably believe these terms were violated.
4. Assignment scan & AI
Document scan may use AI to suggest titles, courses, and due dates from extracted text. Suggestions can be wrong. You must review and confirm every assignment before it is saved. Quiet Focus is not responsible for missed deadlines caused by incorrect scan results, timezone differences, or disabled notifications.
5. Reminders & notifications
Reminders are a helpful nudge, not a guarantee. Delivery depends on your device, browser, network, and notification settings. Snoozing, dismissing, or blocking notifications may prevent alerts from appearing.
6. Not professional advice
Quiet Focus is a productivity tool, not academic, medical, or mental-health advice. Coach messages and recaps are general encouragement only. If you need support, talk to a teacher, counselor, or trusted adult.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of assignments, task names, and other content you enter. You give us permission to store and process that content only to run the app (sync, reminders, scan extraction). See our Privacy Policy for details.
8. Our content
The Quiet Focus name, mascot, design, and code are ours. You may not copy or resell the app without permission. You may use the public web demo for personal, non-commercial study purposes.
9. Waitlist
Joining the waitlist does not guarantee access to a future paid or native app. We may email you about product updates. You can ask to be removed at any time.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
We work hard to keep Quiet Focus reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. The app is provided without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Quiet Focus and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including missed assignments, lost data, or lost study time — arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (which is $0 for the free web app).
12. Termination
You may stop using Quiet Focus at any time. We may discontinue features or access with reasonable notice when possible. Sections that should survive (disclaimers, liability limits) remain in effect after termination.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after updates means you accept the new terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where Quiet Focus operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
15. Contact
